Intel Gaming Hall at CeBIT 2010

Intel Extreme Masters finals, ESL Pro Series 16, FreeGaming Area and more.

Cologne, February 25th, 2010 – Intel and the Electronic Sports League (ESL) present the eSports highlights of the year at CeBIT fair in Hanover, from March 2nd to 6th. The Finals of the Intel Extreme Masters, the global league of eSports champions, take place at Intel Gaming Hall with over 10,000 sqm (hall 23). The first Intel Friday Night Game in 2010 kicks off the 16th season of the ESL Pro Series, the national league for professional gamers.

Intel Extreme Masters

After qualification events on three continents the best gamers are fighting for the championship title at CeBIT 2010. The disciplines of the Intel Extreme Masters are Counter-Strike 1.6, World of Warcraft and Quake Live. Every discipline forms up to twelve teams or single players, who achieved the online qualification and continental finals.

The global league of eSports champions with a 530,000 USD in prize money is the most lucrative prize purse globally.

ESL Pro Series 16

The ESL Pro Series, the national league for professional gamers, starts with the first Intel Friday Night Game of the year at CeBIT into its 16th season. Germany’s best computer-gamers compete on the 5th of March to gain important points for attending the Alienware Finals in summer 2010. The d isciplines are Counter-Strike 1.6, Counter-Strike: Source, Warcraft 3, Quake Live and FIFA 10. The ESL Pro Series with its 133,000 Euro prize purse is the most important eSports league in Germany.

Gaming highlights at Intel Gaming Hall

The Intel Gaming Hall offers with its 10,000 sqm an extensive FreeGaming Area where all visitors are invited to try out new games, such as: Napoleon: Total War, Assassin’s Creed 2 and Dirt 2.

The FreeGaming Area is equipped with hardware powered by Intel and Alienware: high-end gaming machines such as Alienware M17x and Alienware Aurora ALX with Intel Core i7-processors deliver maximum performance.

A special gaming highlight of the year is published by burda:ic: Avalon Heroes invites all eSports fans to join exciting matches and test the new eSports hit together with the clans mousesports and SK Gaming. There also will be a competition between the famous eSports clan WeMade FOX and an European Allstars Team. Finally the eSports legends Jang “Moon” Jae Ho and Manuel “Grubby” Schenkhuizen compete in a showmatch in Avalon Heroes. After this competition there will be a signing session with both eSportsmen at the Avalon Heroes´ booth.
