Immortals Gaming Club acquires Infinite Esports & Entertainment

Deal brings OpTic Gaming and Houston Outlaws under same umbrella as MIBR and the LA Valiant

Immortals Gaming Club has announced it has acquired holding company Infinite Esports & Entertainment in a deal valued at over $100 million.

Infinite Esports & Entertainment encompasses a number of esports subsidiaries, most prominent among them OpTic Gaming and the Overwatch League's Houston Outlaws team. Late last year, the company reportedly laid off 19 employees and its former president Chris Chaney, citing having "grown too fast."

This acquisition will bring those groups under the same umbrella as Overwatch League's LA Valiant and Brazil's CS:GO team MIBR (which Immortals acquired last year), along with a number of other franchises.

Last month, Immortals Gaming Club rebranded from just "Immortals" upon the closure of a Series B funding round that raised $30 million. At the same time, it acquired Brazilian game matchmaking platform Gamers Club.
