I Need Diverse Games offers microgrants to Black devs

Applications now open for a total of $10,000 in grants to tabletop and video game developers

I Need Diverse Games today opened up applications for a round of $10,000 in micro grants for Black tabletop and video game developers.

The non-profit organization said continued support from the community and a lack of travel during the pandemic had afforded it the ability to offer assistance to Black game developers.

The application doesn't say how large each micro grant might be, but a committee consisting of Black developers and I Need Diverse Games founder Tanya DePass will review and award the grants.

The online application form for the micro grants launched today and applications will be accepted until February 17 at 10 p.m. CST.

Those chosen to receive the grants are expected to be notified by February 24.
