Slitherine's middle ages-set strategy RPG to be distributed by PQube.
London: 23rd July 2010: PQube and Slitherine Software are pleased to announce they have signed a new partnership for the release of HISTORY TM Great Battles Medieval for Xbox 360 ® , the video game and entertainment system from Microsoft ® , PLAYSTATION ® 3 computer entertainment system and Windows PC. PQube will publish and distribute the title in the UK.
HISTORY TM Great Battles Medieval is the second title in the highly successful Great Battles series, which saw its first appearance with the release of HISTORY TM Great Battles of Rome in 2007.
“HISTORY TM TV channel is a popular, well known and trusted brand,” said PQube Marketing Manager, Rob Noble. “Working closely with this strong license we will be running a UK nationwide TV campaign and sponsorships through Sky to leverage on HISTORY’s extremely committed and loyal audience”.
Planned already for the TV campaign is a spread of two weeks with heavy rotation spots in prime time and shoulder prime. Over one hundred 30 second spots and 5 second promo bumpers will be airing on HISTORY and MILITARY HISTORY. On top of that special Middle Ages Medieval programming is planned on the channel for the week of launch and this will be sponsored by the game. This is never-seen-before TV coverage for a single game with a TV channel giving so much focus on a title. HISTORY’s website will also be giving dedicated space to the game’s release and more promotional activities to further support the release are in the plans”.

HISTORY TM Great Battles Medieval is based on the historical events of the Hundred Years War, the most famous conflict of medieval times fought between France and England that shaped the future of both countries for centuries to follow. It features Slitherine’s cutting edge graphic engine and a brand new game play system that allows players to be in complete control of massive armies. From the thunderous charge of the knights to the men-at-arms fighting for their lives in hand-to-hand combat, the game will recreate the epic feel of medieval battles, featuring thousands of characters simultaneously.
