Hirschmann's departure a "mutual decision," says LucasArts

LucasArts has confirmed a workforce reduction, including the departure of its VP of product development

LucasArts has confirmed that a "workforce reduction" took place yesterday - including the departure of VP of product development Peter Hirschmann.

"Peter Hirschmann's leaving was a mutual decision," a company spokesperson told GamesIndustry.biz.

"He brought the company into next-gen development and has nurtured a strong slate through our pipeline. We are very proud of the games we have this year - Lego Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed and Fracture."

The company has not yet issued a formal statement regarding Hirschmann's departure, nor has either party given any indication as to Hirschmann's future plans.

News of the layoffs was first reported on Thursday, when it first emerged that 75 to 100 people had been given the boot - including Hirschmann and Shawn Storc, producer of the Lego Star Wars and Lego Indiana Jones games.
