Harrison to keynote Unity developer conference

Is Atari using online 3D games tech in future titles?

Atari president and former Sony studios boss Phil Harrison has signed up to give a keynote speech at Unity's developer conference later this month.

Unity is a 3D game tech solution for virtual worlds, MMOs and browser-based games, and is currently used by Funcom, NASA, Cartoon Network and Shockwave.com.

The reinvigorated Atari intends to transform itself into an online games specialist, but has so far not revealed specific plans, technology or business models.

With Harrison blessing the Unity conference, it may be indication that the publisher intends to use the technology in its future offerings.

During the conference, which takes place in Copenhagen October 22-24, Unity will also detail its support for Apple's iPhone.
