GamesAid golf event confirmed for July

UK charity organisation aiming to beat £564,000 raised across the whole of 2015

GamesAid will continue its good work with a "Golf and Spa Day" this July, the event's ninth consecutive year as a feature of the British charity's calendar.

The event has attracted more than 150 professionals from every part games industry: developers, publishers, retailers, press. The money generated from the day's activities will be shared among a group of children's charities selected by GamesAid members each year.

And GamesAid's members have been very active the last few years. In 2014, £450,000 was shared between six different charities, and that total was eclipsed in 2015 with a total of £564,000 raised. GamesAid has increased that amount for eight consecutive years, and the calendar for 2016 is already crowded with events.

In addition to golf in July, there will be a comedy event, Stand Up for GamesAid, in May, and the annual Gamescom Bike Ride, in which industry professionals cycle from the massive consumer event in Cologne, Germany, all the way back to Brighton, England.

GamesAid's Golf and Spa Day will be held at The Grove on July 14. There's more information on the GamesAid website.
