Game Boy Advance shipments hit 10 million in Europe

Nintendo Europe is today celebrating a major sales milestone for the Game Boy Advance platform, which has just shipped its ten millionth unit in this territory - of which over three million are GBA SP consoles.

Nintendo Europe is today celebrating a major sales milestone for the Game Boy Advance platform, which has just shipped its ten millionth unit in this territory - of which over three million are GBA SP consoles.

The success of the handheld console continues apace this Christmas, with the GBA occupying a comfortable second place behind the PS2 in terms of unit sales in the UK, and showing no sign of the year-on-year sales decline which has afflicted most other consoles.

Nintendo is keen to promote the system as an ideal Christmas gift, and expects to bring the total catalogue of software available for the GBA to over 400 titles within the coming weeks. Disney Interactive's Finding Nemo is the largest selling GBA title so far this Christmas, followed closely by Nintendo's own Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire titles.
