From Dust breaks Ubisoft sales records

XBLA sales 45% higher than company's previous record holder

XBLA title From Dust has broken Ubisoft day one sales records for a digital download by 45 per cent.

Ubisoft did not reveal how many copies of the game had been downloaded so far.

"From Dust is another great example of Ubisoft’s ongoing commitment to bring original intellectual properties and brands to the digital space,” said Chris Early, Ubi's VP of digital publishing.

"Ubisoft is a creative company dedicated to delivering innovative and engaging content for all types of players – whether it’s a big retail game or a short format digital title such as From Dust."

Developed by Ubisoft Montpellier and designed by Eric Chahi, the strategy game allows players to protect a tribe of villagers using the environment.

The game is currently available on XBLA, with a PC release scheduled for August 17. The game will also be available on PSN.
