Eurogamer and Terraplay get together for TIF online

Online gaming specialists Eurogamer and Terraplay have signed an agreement which will see their technology solutions working more closely together on future projects, starting with SCEE's This Is Football.

Online gaming specialists Eurogamer and Terraplay have signed an agreement which will see their technology solutions working more closely together on future projects, starting with SCEE's This Is Football.

Under the terms of the agreement, Terraplay will be reselling Eurogamer's OILS product, a multi-platform online lobby solution which provides a range of advanced community features for network games. The OILS system has been optimised to work with Terraplay's real-time network technology.

The first game to benefit from this partnership will be Sony's forthcoming online football title, This Is Football, which will feature an online network, lobby and community solution based on Terraplay's network technology and Eurogamer's OILS lobby technology.

"This agreement allows us to offer to operators and service providers sophisticated and advanced lobby functionality with community features for PC and console games," explained Terraplay CEO Jeremy Lewis. "It also gives us the possibility to adopt and tailor the functionality for an operator or a special game need."

"We are delighted to have Terraplay as a partner," enthused Eurogamer director of operations Rupert Loman. "We are looking forward to working with them in applying our combined online gaming expertise to âThis is Footballâ, as well as future console and PC games."
