Devcom's first wave of speakers includes Remedy, Splash Damage and Compulsion Games

German developer conference kicks of a week that also includes Gamescom

Devcom has kicked off the schedule for this year's conference with speakers from Remedy Entertainment, Splash Damage and Digital Sun.

The German developer conference, which takes place directly before the Gamescom consumer expo, will feature a talk from Remedy Entertainment CEO Tero Virtala. The Finnish studio will be about to launch Control, its first big release since laying out plans to become more productive and self-sufficient.

Another Devcom speaker also has strong ties to Remedy: Mathias Myllyrinne, who was previously CEO at the Alan Wake developer, and is now a co-founder of Redhill Games, which started up in November last year.

Other high-level executives speaking at the event include Splash Damage CEO Richard Jolly, and Javi Gimènez, CEO of Digital Sun, which had a breakout hit with the 11 bit Studios published Moonlighter.

The Devcom 2019 line-up also features key creative staff from major studios, such as Whitney Clayton, art director at the Xbox-owned Compulsion Games, and Romain De Waubert, creative director at the Sega-owned Amplitude Studios.

More speakers will be announced soon, but you can find the current line-up on the official Devcom website.

Devcom takes place in Cologne, Germany, from August 18 to 19, 2019. Gamescom starts later the same week, on August 21.
