David Jones to keynote Develop

Well-respected Realtime Worlds boss to deliver a talk at this year's Brighton event

Tandem Events has unveiled the first keynote speaker for this year's Develop Conference in Brighton as David Jones, CEO of Dundee-based firm Realtime Worlds, and the creator of the Grand Theft Auto and Lemmings franchises.

Jones hasn't yet revealed too much of what he'll be talking about, saying simply: "Develop is the most prestigious development conference in the UK, and I'm looking forward to coming to Brighton as it's a great opportunity to share some of my experiences of making games - both good and not so good - plus tell a few of the Realtime World's stories to my fellow developers."

Other session details were also unveiled, including excerpts of the schedule for the first day of the event this year, called Evolve - a new concept for Develop looking specifically at new frontiers for game development, including platforms such as the iPhone and social networking sites.

Playfish's Kristian Segerstrale and Team 17's Martyn Brown will be among the speakers on that first day, with Andrew Oliver from Blitz and Arran Green from SCEE among those confirmed for sessions on the remaining Develop days.

More information can be found on the official website, while an interview with the event's advisory board chair, Owain Bennallack, will be published on GamesIndustry.biz tomorrow.
