CIVILIZATION to reign on mobile phones

Com2uS Corporation and Atari sign global license deal to develop a mobile version of the classic strategy game

LONDON, 1Q 2005 - Com2uS, a leading global developer and publisher of mobile games, has secured an exclusive three-year global deal with Atari, Inc. to create mobile phones games based on Sid Meier's Civilization, the hugely popular empire-building strategy game developed by Firaxis Games.

With more than 7 million units sold worldwide since its launch, Sid Meier's Civilization and its sequels are among the most popular PC games of recent years and have inspired a generation of desktop dictators. A deep and addictive strategy game, Civilization puts players in the role of a would-be empire builder whose aim is to expand his dominion through bold exploration, careful diplomacy, ruthless trade, gradual development and intense combat.

Com2uS will utilize its experience in developing original, cutting-edge games to bring Civilization to the mobile platform. It plans to develop and publish Civilization games for all main mobile devices on multiple platforms, including Java and BREW, through major carriers worldwide.

"Com2uS is very proud to be bringing Civilization to the mobile platform," said Antony Douglas, Director of Com2uS in EMEA. "With our long experience of creating quality games for the global market, we are confident of doing justice to the Civilization brand. We are looking forward to working with Sid Meier to develop a game that will appeal to all gamers, both casual and hardcore, while remaining true to the brand's history and ideals."

"We are very pleased to be working with Com2uS," said Wim Stocks, Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Atari, Inc. "This is the first global licensing deal that we have done with a company based in the Asian region, and we're excited about the prospect of building closer ties to companies in that part of the world. Com2uS is one of Korea's first truly global wireless gaming companies and we are confident it will make Civilization into one of the most compelling wireless games available."

Civilization will make its debut on mobile phone handsets across the world early next year.
