CCP's Dancey launches Goblinworks studio

Will publish online game based on Paizo's Pathfinder tabletop series

Ryan Dancey, formerly the chief marketing officer for Eve Online creator CCP Games, has launched his own development studio, Goblinworks.

The news was revealed by Pazia CEO, and now Goblinworks COO, Lisa Stevens. The studio's first game will be MMO Pathfinder Online.

"When I left Wizards [Of The Coast], I told Ryan that I'd love to work with him again someday," she said.

"I started Paizo, and Ryan went to CCP in Iceland to be the Chief Marketing Officer for the EVE Online MMO. We stayed in touch over the years, and after Ryan left CCP earlier this year, I asked him what he was going to do next. His answer: How about a Pathfinder MMO?"

Recently 120 staff were made redundant from CCP Games.

Stevens and Dancey are part owners of Goblinworks, along with Mark Kalmes, who will take the role of CTO.

Goblinworks is currently looking for investors for Pathfinder Online, and Stevens asked the community for feedback to help guide development.

"We're going to be very interactive with you, the Pathfinder community, because we want this game to be yours."

Pathfinder is a tabletop RPG that Pazio launched in 2009, and is based on the Dungeons & Dragons.
