BioWare forms new Mass Effect 2 team

Dedicated group to be based in EA Montreal

BioWare is forming a new studio group with EA's Montreal studio to concentrate on the multiformat release Mass Effect 2.

Co-founder Ray Muzyka confirmed that around 30 staff will be hired to work with the main Mass Effect group developing the game in Edmonton.

"Our new presence... will be located within the existing EA Montreal facilities," Muzyka told Gamasutra. "It's great that we have a strong foundation to build out of."

Muzyka said that other forthcoming titles from BioWare – Star Wars: The Old Republic and Dragon Age – would not be affected by the new team.

"There's a great studio here continuing full-force with a whole bunch of really cool, exciting things as well," he added.
