BAFTA to host David Braben tribute event

GamesIndustry.biz partners for "A Life in Videogames" session with Elite co-creator

BAFTA and GamesIndustry.biz have joined forces once again to present another evening session at 195 Picadilly, this time focusing on the career of Frontier Developments chairman David Braben.

A Life in Videogames: David Braben is part of a special strand of BAFTA events celebrating the life and work of extraordinary individuals within the videogames industry, and as with the sold out collaboration on digital distribution earlier in the year, members of the GamesIndustry.biz Network will have a chance to apply for free tickets to the session.

The 'audience with' event will take place on the evening of September 14 at the BAFTA headquarters, and will chart Braben's career as his seminal co-creation, Elite, celebrates its 25th anniversary.

"I'm delighted that we're able to build on our hugely successful partnership earlier in the year with another great one-off event at BAFTA," said Phil Elliott, managing editor at GamesIndustry.biz. "Elite was certainly one of the key influences for me in terms of opening my eyes to the possibilities that videogames can bring, so to be able to celebrate that - and David's career - is an honour."

More information is available on the BAFTA website, while further details will be revealed in due course.
