BAFTA announces IGN and VUE partnership

Free "Be Part of It" event planned ahead of game awards show

The British Academy of Film and Television Arts has announced a new partnership with consumer website IGN and cinema chain Vue, which will see the three companies collaborate on a new consumer event.

The free (but ticket-only) event will take place at Vue Westfield in Shepherds Bush, London on March 8. The "Be Part Of It" concept is intended to allow gamers easier access to game developers and to play new titles ahead of release.

No announcement has been made as to which developers will be attendance, but a presentation on one of Vue's "Extreme Screens" is planned. The event will have a particular emphasis on stereoscopic 3D, with 3DS titles such as Pilotwings Resort and Sony's Motorstorm: Apocalypse featuring prominently.

Visitors will also have the chance to win a pair of tickets to the GAME British Academy Video Game Awards, due to take place at the London Hilton on 16 March.

Attendees must be over 18, with ticket applications available from the IGN website.
