Assassin's Creed Brotherhood logs record pre-orders

Latest in series continues upwards trend as Ubisoft predicts strong showing at retail

Ubisoft has announced that Brotherhood, the latest title in its Assassin's Creed Franchise, has "surpassed all other Ubisoft videogame releases in worldwide pre-orders" and expects the game to outperform previous titles in the series.

It's the third full console and PC instalment in the series, alongside Chronicles for DS and iPhone and Bloodlines on PSP. In total Assassin's Creed I and II have sold over 19 million copies, with pre-orders for the second game increasing by ten to twenty per cent over the first.

"As evidenced by the record number of pre-orders and the success of the multiplayer beta, consumers can't wait to get their hands on Assassin's Creed Brotherhood, and we're looking forward to delivering them an experience they'll never forget," said Ubisoft.

Earlier this month, GameStop claimed that incredible numbers of pre-orders for Activision's Call of Duty:Black Ops had made it the retailer's most pre-ordered game ever.
