The point of posting sales figures it to see which userbase is growing by how much isn't it?

I can't be the only one who clicked the link, looked at the list and then did a double take.

Never sure why 3DS and 3DS XL are split up, when they have the same capabilities, same internal hardware but a different size screen. It's not far from having a figure for people who plan to use a PS4 on a small TV and a figure for those connecting to a large screen. Essentially there are nearly 20k more owners who can buy 3DS software (except if a lot of 3DS XL owners are upgrading).

It seems Vita is doing well in Japan, but it seems misleading that it is topping the charts, but really selling 2k less than the 3DS.

If you look at the Famitsu numbers (which most consider to be more accurate), 3DS is ahead of Vita by a sizable margin.

@ Jim That's not true (that most consider Famitsu to be more accurate). Publishers, media sites, and investors all use Media Create for reference instead. They are generally considered more accurate (though obviously neither are 100%).

The sites I go to all use Famitsu, Famitsu from what I researched about it, tracks more retail activity. Anyway it does not really matter, unlike last week, all 3 trackers had 3DS ahead.

I'm not sure which sites you visit, but Famitsu is a Video Game magazine publisher, while Media Create is an actual Market Research company. With all due respect for Nicholas, comparing Famitsu to Media Create numbers is like comparing VGChartz to NPD numbers.
