Apply now for BAFTA Breakthrough Brits

Become one of the future British stars of the industry

Want to nominate a colleague, contemporary or yourself for a BAFTA Breakthrough Brit? Applications just opened and you have until June 9 to apply.

The award aims to recognise the UK's future stars of film, television and games.

"I'm delighted that we're working with Burberry to deliver our Breakthrough Brits initiative once again this year," said Amanda Berry OBE, chief executive of BAFTA.

"Over the past six months it's been wonderful to see our inaugural honourees attending our events, spending time with their mentors and gaining ever more recognition from their peers. We're looking forward to identifying the next group of up-and-coming film, television and games professionals and bringing their incredible talents to everyone's attention."

Anyone who would like to be considered for the honour must submit an online application by 10am on June 9. Industry professionals can nominate an individual before the deadline by contacting breakthrough@bafta.org. BAFTA will then contact the nominated individual to invite them to submit an application.

"Since becoming a BAFTA Breakthrough Brit, I have released two games," added developer and one of last year's Breakthrough Brits Dan Pearce.

"Both have been helped by the increased credibility granted by Breakthrough Brits. The initiative also helped immensely in setting up contact between me and the people who were integral to getting one of those games out."

The winning Breakthrough Brits will be announced at an evening reception at 121 Regent Street in the autumn.
