Blizzard seeks "PlayStation 3 specialist" for Diablo III team

Senior software engineer listing fuels Diablo console speculation

Speculation that Blizzard plans to bring its Diablo series to console has intensified, following a new job listing for a PlayStation 3 specialist.

The senior software engineer role entails "overseeing PlayStation 3 architecture design as well as other PS3-specific game code development to maximise platform performance," with the successful applicant expected to "design, implement, and maintain game systems to work on the Playstation 3".

Blizzard has been coy about the much-rumoured possibility of bringing its upcoming PC title Diablo III to console, though last Winter revealed it was at least exploring a "Diablo-related concept" for console.

The new job listing explicitly appears under 'Diablo III' on Blizzard's jobs page however, though this may simply be a matter of no other relevant category existing as yet.

Blizzard has hinted that the PC version of Diablo III may arrive this year, but no firm release date has been given.
