X³: Reunion - First Look At The X³ Engine In Motion
BASINGSTOKE, England (June 28th 2005) - E³ 2005 was the first opportunity for the worldwide games press to see the new X³ games engine running on the PC. Many believed that it was a pre-rendered visual, to then be shocked that it was actually in game graphics, generated in real time.
A bluey, greeny globe hangs in the voids of deep space. Orbiting this fruitful world, a colossus space station serves as a trading point for hundreds of beings in the sector. Its giant superstructure, rotates slowly to maintain the artificial gravity for it inhabitants. Star ships come and go, goods are enhanced, deals are hatched, fortunes are won and lost. A trader seeks departure clearance from the dock master. Moorings are dropped, space doors are opened as the fragile freighter coasts out of the hanger, before blasting off into deep space.
