Wiggling onto Apple's App Store.

Team17 are pleased to announce Worms Express for the App Store.

This single-player, on-the-move and direct edition of the highly successful title released in the summer (which went to no.1 in 11 countries) is available for just £0.59p/$1.

The game has been scaled to appeal to single players and no-nonsense quick gameplay bursts.

It features the now classic Worms gameplay and all new single player challenges. and runs the very latest refined iPhone/iPod touch controls and enhancements.

By releasing this edition at a knock down price, Team17 hope that it can introduce the strategy-action title to an even wider audience.

(Note that this edition does not include Multiplayer options nor the full range of weapon/game options present in the full game released in July 2009 and expanded since release.)

Meanwhile… Bluetooth & upgraded 3GS features soon to arrive for the original!

The original Worms will shortly receive a major facelift and feature expansion in version 2.0!

The full game, which is a full console-style experience is still available at only £2.99/$4.99, will get a major boost with exciting new visual options for 3GS models and also Bluetooth multiplayer game support. When enabled, the 3GS edition now features visuals in direct comparison with Xbox 360 and PlayStation3 editions of the title and enhances Worms reputation as one of the strongest mobile games implementations around.

As well as performance enhancements and general improvements, an exciting new single player “Survival” mode (with online leaderboard) has been added as well as social network support for Twitter and Facebook.

A full music playlist feature has been added for players to utilise their own favourite music tracks from their iPod library, Plus+ online support for leaderboard & friends lists and finally in-game replays for great shots have returned at the request of the playing community.

The 2.0 update to Worms is available free of charge for all owners of the original game and is expected in November.

Internet-multiplayer game modes for the title is in development and will follow in early 2010.
