Work begins on Future’s new London office

City-based staff to move into single West End location

08/09/05 - Future - the international special-interest magazine publisher, today announces that work has begun on developing its new London office space - Marylebone Central.

The company is taking 51,000 sq ft of high-quality office space on the corner of Marylebone Road and Balcombe Street, NW1 - reported to be one of the biggest property deals in the West End this year. Future will move all London-based operations into a single location consolidating three existing sites in Kensington, Kentish Town and Baker Street.

With room for 500 staff, Future's new office will occupy five floors of the building and contain the company's London magazines and websites, including CVG Online, Home Cinema Choice, T3, Total Film, Wedding Day and new launch, Xbox 360: The Official Xbox Magazine. The building will also include a purpose built in-house photography studio, test laboratories for Future's AV and Hi-Fi titles, and a café area.

Once construction work is completed, Future intends to move the first teams in at the end of October, with full occupation expected by Christmas.

Commenting on the work, Future's Managing Director, Robert Price says:

"Future has undergone a rapid period of growth and our new office will enable us to bring our London staff together in one location and will consolidate our major presence in the capital. Construction work will take several months to complete, but our employees are already looking forward to moving in."
