Wigmore steps up as Euro publishing boss for Codemasters

UK general manager promoted ahead of new releases

Codemasters has promoted Jeremy Wigmore to vice president of publishing in the EMEA regions.

Formerly general manager of UK and Australia, Wigmore was responsible for the launch of F1 2009, DiRT 2, Ashes 2009 and Operations Flashpoint: Dragon Rising, which between them have shipped over 2.5 million units this year.

"Distribution forces in global markets looking to grow scale, efficiencies and strength see Codemasters as a ‘must have’ inclusion in their business," said Rod Cousens, CEO of Codemasters.

"As the largest independent content creator and publisher, the company attracts great interest from established, effective, distribution powerhouses who we see as partners in regional access for our traditional publishing activity. These are strategic relationships that sit alongside our ambitions in the digital segment and particularly as they relate to social, mobile and cloud gaming."

"These partnerships are valued by us and deserve high quality management and support; Jeremy Wigmore has taken up this charge. He has played a pivotal role in fast tracking Codemasters’ business and will now bring those talents to bear in a wider sphere. He thrives on responsibility, is a team player and wants to build on past success. He will take it in his stride and will ensure our chosen representative partners play their part too."

Releases from Codemasters in the pipeline include the PS3 and Xbox 360 version of F1 2009, International Cricket 2010 and new IP Bodycount.
