Warner, Deadline Games team for Watchmen titles

Two games in the works to coincide with movie and DVD release next year

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has confirmed it is working on two downloadable games based on the forthcoming Watchmen movie.

One title will released to coincide with the movie in March 2009, another is scheduled to go live alongside the DVD release of the film, with the company keen to take advantage of the flexibility of digital delivery.

"We don't want a low-quality console game that will get lost at retail," said Samantha Ryan, senior VP of production for Warner, reports Variety."A downloadable game allows us to deliver the experience that fans expect."

The games are based on the movie of the comic book, and are in development at Total Overdose studio Deadline Games.

Warner has also said that it may produce more titles using digital delivery if the model is a success.
