VG247 takes away 3 Games Media Awards

Gongs also for Eurogamer, The Guardian and One Life Left

Videogame blog VG247 walked away with three Games Media Awards at last night's event, with editor Pat Garrett claiming the coveted Legend award.

Garrett also took Best Online Writer and the site picked up Best Blog, with other winners on the night including Eurogamer, OXM and The Guardian.

"I'm honestly thrilled about last night," Garret told GamesIndustry.biz. "I've always tried to surround myself with a good team and bet on the right product, but to receive personal recognition from my peers like that is just unbelievable. It's a real high point."

Eurogamer picked up the award for Best Online, while Shortlist won Best Mainstream Coverage and Edge took the gong for Best Games Magazine.

OXM's Mike Channel was crowned Rising Star, the Regional Games Column award went to Dan Slingsby and Jon Blyth took Best Print Writer.

The Guardian took the Best Coverage in a Newspaper award and One Life Left was awarded Best Broadcast.
