UK iPad launch set for May 28

Prices range from £429 to £699 for Apple's latest device; pre-orders begin on May 10

Apple has said that it will launch the iPad in the UK and other regions including Japan, Germany and Australia, on May 28.

The basic 16GB Wi-Fi model will retail for £429, the 32GB model for £499 and the 64GB SKU for £599.

The 3G Wi-Fi models will sell for £529 (16GB), £599 (32GB) and £699 (64GB), with pre-orders being taken from Monday, May 10.

The device has already sold over one million units in the US alone, with customers downloading over 12 million apps from the App Store.

The iPad will launch on May 28 in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Switzerland and the UK. July is the current target month for launch in Austria, Belgium, Hong Kong, Ireland, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand and Singapore.
