UK Charts: Detroit: Become Human headlines all new Top Three

State of Decay makes No.2

God of War's five-week reign at the summit of the UK boxed charts is at an end.

The PS4 exclusive makes way for another PS4 exclusive in the form of Detroit: Become Human. It's the tenth different PS4 exclusive to top the charts since the start of 2017.

Developed by Quantic Dream, sales of the game is roughly in-line with the performance of its last title, 2013's Beyond Two Souls. When you factor in the expected increase in digital download sales (which isn't included here) it's likely the game surpassed the performance of that title - although not by a huge margin.

However, it's well behind sales of 2010's Heavy Rain, which sold almost four times as many copies (in a box) than Detroit: Become Human.

There's another new game at No.2, as well, in the form of State of Decay 2. The Xbox One exclusive was very close to Detroit, with fewer than 4,000 boxed sales separating the two.

And then at No.3 is the remastered version of Dark Souls. Again, this game was also pretty close to the Top Two. The Switch version is still to come for this title.

It's the biggest change to the UK physical charts we've seen in almost two months. God of War actually slips down to No.5, because price activity around FIFA 18 saw that game's sales increase 59% week-on-week so that it makes No.4 (although actually it dropped two places).

God of War's drop comes despite a 5% increase in sales. In fact, there's been a lot of growth this week in the Top Ten. Far Cry 5 sales increase 59% week-on-week. Overwatch rise 33 places to No.7 thanks to a price promotion (under £15 at some stores), with sales rising 710%. Destiny 2 returns to the Top Ten at No.8 after sales rose 96%, while Fallout 4 is at No.9 with a 66% sales jump. Mario Kart 8 is the lone Switch exclusive in the Top Ten, for a change, with sales rising 11%. It holds in at No.10.

Last week's new release Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition drops 62% in sales and goes from No.3 to No.17. Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze drops from No.4 to No.14 as a result of all these changes, down 39% in sales. While even GTA V takes a drop out of the Top Ten to No.13, despite sales increasing 6%.

The only other new release this week is at No.19, where Space Hulk Deathwing debuts on PS4.
