UK Charts: Crash Bandicoot holds No.1 as Xbox exclusives dominate Top Ten

Octopath Traveler drops to No.16

Last week was Amazon Prime Day, and the charts have reflected some deep discounting on Xbox One hardware.

Not that it's a significantly different chart. Crash Bandicoot: N.Sane Trilogy is No.1 for a fourth consecutive week after the release of the Nintendo Switch and Xbox One versions last month. The game holds off very fierce competition from LEGO The Incredibles. Impressively, Warner Bros and TT Games' title only dropped 7% in sales week-on-week, which is a rare feat indeed. The game was boosted by the movie's release.

No.3 is where things change as Rare's Xbox One exclusive Sea of Thieves has re-entered the charts. The game was included in Xbox One hardware bundles that were part of Amazon's mid-week sale. Other bundled games to benefit include Minecraft: Xbox Edition at No.4 and Forza Horizon 3 at No.6.

In-between those games is the updated release of Sonic Mania - Sonic Mania Plus - which makes No.5. The game sold best on Nintendo Switch (52% of sales. PS4 accounting for 34% and Xbox One on 15%).

To show how close the Top 6 are, only 2,000 sales separate No.6 from No.1.

Last week's impressive Octopath Traveler takes a not-unexpected sales drop of 60% week-on-week, which sees the game fall all the way down to No.16. A 60% drop in its second week is perfectly reasonable for a niche game, although the chart drop looks more severe due to rising sales across other titles.

Also new this week is a new PlayStation budget range called 'PlayStation Hits'. This has seen The Last of Us Remastered shoot back into the charts at No.26.

Here is the UKIE/GfK physical chart for the week ending July 21st:

Last Week This Week Title
1 1 Crash Bandicoot: N.Sane Trilogy
3 2 LEGO The Incredibles
Re-Entry 3 Sea of Thieves
Re-Entry 4 Minecraft: Xbox Edition
New Entry 5 Sonic Mania Plus
Re-Entry 6 Forza Horizon 3
5 7 God of War
11 8 The Crew 2
6 9 FIFA 18
10 10 Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
