UK boss Harvey Eagle moves to global Xbox Live role

Exec will now oversee the growth of Xbox's online community

Microsoft has promoted Harvey Eagle to director for Xbox Live product marketing.

He will start his new role on November 1st, moving away from his current position as business lead for UK and Ireland, which he has held for six years.

His promotion takes him into a global role, putting him in charge of overseeing growth for Xbox Live and working closely with the product engineering, marketing and business development teams to bring new features and services to Xbox.

Eagle first joined Microsoft in 2000, initially holding a series of EMEA roles, and even worked on the marketing for the launch of the original Xbox.

"It's been a privilege to lead the Xbox business in the UK and Ireland for the past six years," says Eagle.

"I'm excited to take on a global remit to grow one of the most valuable communities we have in Xbox Live."

Eagle will report to Ben Decker, general manager for gaming services marketing.
