German mobile content publisher and developer, Handy-games, has announced the launch of its new virtual card trading application, Townsmen Cards. The sea-faring battle game is directly related to the recently released Townsmen 3 for mobiles.
By heading over to the Townsmen 3 website, players can create a username and begin engaging in a high seas battle against a computer opponent, or take on other 'Townies' from around the world.
Each contest pits gamers against an enemy ship, challenging them to sink it by selecting the highest statistic (number of cannons, crew members, hull integrity etc.) to beat their opponent's card, in a similar fashion to the popular Top Trumps card trading system.
Records of wins, losses and new cards gained in battle will be stored under the user profile, encouraging repeat play as gamers try to win the most cards from unsuspecting opponents. In addition, Handy-games' recently released mobile game, Townsmen 3, can be used to generate unique codes for the purchase of new ships for the online card game.
By trading successfully and purchasing new ships in Townsmen 3 for mobiles, gamers are provided with a code which, when input on the website, will provide new and increasingly more powerful vessels to ease the path to victory in Townsmen Cards.
Available for purchase and download from the 15th November, Townsmen 3 builds on the popularity of the series, offering 14 single-player missions to serve the community as a successful merchant or storm the seas and conquer the world as a notorious pirate.
Offering gamers the freedom to choose between clean cut fame or morally corrupt infamy, the build-up strategy game has been enhanced and adpated for a new generation of mobile gamers. The inclusion of a dedicated online trading card spin off porvides gamers with the perfect excuse to not only explore and conquer the mobile game, but also to use the new vessels to destroy the competition online.
