Tim Wapshott leaves head of comms role at ELSPA

Association's PR duties to be handled exclusively by Burson-Marsteller

ELSPA has confirmed that its head of communications, Tim Wapshott, has left the company meaning that public relations will now be handled exclusively by agency Burson-Marsteller.

A statement from Michael Rawlinson, the organisation's director general read: "ELSPA announces that Tim Wapshott, head of communications, has now left the organisation with effect from 15 February 2010. Tim has made a significant contribution to the company, and ELSPA wishes him well in his future pursuits."

Wapshott joined the company last year, at around the same time that ELSPA dropped its long-running PR firm BHPR in favour of Burson-Marsteller. Prior to joining the company, Wapshott was a games reviewer for The Times.

Burson-Marsteller is one of the largest public relations firms in the world with offices and partners in 59 countries, and has worked with companies including Boeing, Sun Microsystems, Sony Electronics and Accenture Technology.
