THQ Wireless expands into Scandinavia

The mobile game subsidiary of publisher THQ, THQ Wireless, has announced that it is to open a new office in Helsinki which will manage activities throughout Scandinavia, Eastern Europe and Russia.

Therese Cedercreutz, whose former experience in the mobile industry includes spells with Netsize in Finland and Sonera zed in London, will head up the new Helsinki offices as territory manager.

"The take-up of innovative services, such as Java games, is strong in the Nordic countries which have a reputation for being early adopters of new mobile technologies," commented Cedercreutz. "A number of THQ Wirelessâ games, particularly those featuring racing and driving such as MotoGP, are already extremely popular in the Nordic countries and I am looking forward to extending the reach of our brand into Russia and Eastern Europe."
