TGS Sense of Wonder Night seeking applications

Tokyo Game Show event will shine spotlight on titles that push boundaries and explore new styles

This year's Tokyo Game Show will feature an evening of creative and experimental gaming set to provide inspiration for developers.

As reported by Wired's blog, the Sense of Wonder Night 2008 is hoping to shine the spotlight on titles that are pushing boundaries and exploring new styles of play and presentation.

Organisers are looking for games that make innovative leaps in areas like user interface and interactive storytelling - rather than mixtures of different, existing genres or technological innovations that don't directly affect gameplay.

Applications for the event are being accepted through August 31. Ten titles will be selected by a committee which includes Keita Takahashi, the creator of Katamari Damacy.

The Sense of Wonder Night 2008 will be held on October 10. The Tokyo Game Show will be held from October 9 - 12.
