Dixons and PC World Ensure A Happy New Year; Award-winning 128Mb Palm-Powered Multimedia Handheld Now Below £250

Wednesday 29 December 2004/... Gadget lovers looking for a bargain over the holiday period are in for a treat, as PC World and Dixons have lowered the price of the world's powerful Palm-operated multimedia handheld - making it even better value for money.

The 128Mb Zodiac 2 now retails for £249, with the 32Mb Zodiac 1 already down to £199 (10/12/04) - a discount off the previous prices of £50 and £70 respectively.

The Tapwave Zodiac is the world's most powerful Palm-operated multimedia handheld, offering music, video, games and Palm-powered software on the move. It offers a high resolution (480x320) 3.8-inch colour display, Yamaha audio with stereo speakers and vibration effects. With integrated Bluetooth and infrared wireless technologies, the Zodiac can also be used in conjunction with a supported WiFi card or mobile phone to browse the internet, send SMS messages and manage email. The Zodiac can be operated in landscape or portrait mode, allowing Word documents, e-mail or family pictures to be viewed in the orientation which best suits them. The Zodiac also features high capacity rechargeable lithium batteries for extended use, a touch-screen for direct interaction and text input and the first ever analog controller (joystick) in a handheld product.

"The Zodiac has enjoyed a tremendous launch period, which has seen it establish itself as the number one Palm-powered multimedia handheld," says Jonathan Hirst, Marketing Manager for Mobile Office (PC World) "With this reduction in price, we're delighted to be able to give our customers even more for their money, making the Zodiac unbeatable value."

The Tapwave Zodiac is available now, exclusively from Dixons, Dixons Tax Free and PC World. Software and accessories can be bought in-store or at www.tapwave.co.uk
