Tagged to shut down Hi5's third-party dev platform

Service "wasn't nearly as vibrant as we felt it could be," says new owner

Social network Tagged, the new owner of Hi5, has said it will close down its third-party development platform.

The company bought the struggling games portal last year, and will now replace third-party content with its own games developed in-house, reports Techcrunch.

According to Tagged marketing exec Steve Sarner, Hi5 "wasn't nearly as vibrant as we felt it could be or should be" and the site "will become a Tagged.com experience with a Hi5 wrapper."

Tagged is a social network with a range of pets, café, farm and mafia games on offer.
