The Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences has opened submissions for the 2008 Interactive Achievement Awards

The Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences has opened submissions for the 2008 Interactive Achievement Awards.

The 11th annual awards ceremony will be held on February 7, 2008 at the Red Rock Resort in Las Vegas. Members of the publishing and development communities are now being asked to nominate titles for the awards.

The AIAS is a non-profit member organisation for the videogame industry that recognizes outstanding achievements in and contributions to interactive entertainment and game development. The entire Academy membership, numbering 12,000 people, has the ability to vote for the five Game of the Year categories.

Peer panelists for the genre and craft categories must be Creative Technical and Active Business members of the Academy. They will evaluate and play the hundreds of games nominated, voting for the best in each category.

Gamespot will be streaming the awards live from Las Vegas.
