Strafe raises $3m for esports hub app
Seed round led by Bitkraft Esports Ventures
Esports companion app company Strafe has announced it raised $3 million in seed funding toward further development of its database and esports audience hub.
Bitkraft Esports Ventures, an esports investment company that has previously supported Tonk Tonk Game, Quarterback, and Network Next led the funding round. The investment company was founded in 2017 by ESL founder Jens Hilgers as a $19.6 million dedicated esports fund.
The seed funding will be used to hire more developers for the Strafe esports companion app, which includes features such as an esports database, tournament coverage, real-time updates of matches, and social betting. It will also be used for continued user acquisition.
"Strafe is unlike any app currently on the esports market with extremely high user retention and organic growth and an impressive executive team," said Bitkraft founding partner Malte Barth. "We are excited to back an incredible entrepreneurial team from the developing esports and gaming ecosystem in the Nordics that provides more structure to the esports competitive landscape and additional entertainment value to the esports community."
