Sphere becomes Best Multiplayer Game 2004 in Russia

On 5 March 2005, Moscow, Russia, hosted Gameland Award, an award ceremony for computer and videogame achievements. The expansion to the first Russian massively multiplayer online role-play game called Sphere. Continent of Power, became the winner in the Best Multiplayer Game of 2004 category.

Gameland Award has become the first activity on such a scale organised by the leading journalists of the Russian game industry. The award ceremony took place in the Central Academic Theatre of the Russian Army. Leading developers, publishers and localizing companies from Russia and CIS states took part in this event. The founders of popular game magazines, television, film, rock and pop stars came to congratulate the winners.

Entries in the Best Multiplayer Game 2004 category included such titles as Soldiers: Heroes of WW2, Ostrich Runner, Kreed: Battle for Savitar, Perimeter, Alexander, Pearl Harbour and Gulf War. Sphere - Continent of Power has taken this well-deserved award. The expansion to the first Russian massively multiplayer online role-play game was released on 19 November 2004 and introduced considerable changes to the game process. The joint work of 1C Company, Nikita and Yandex employees has been rightly appreciated by both users and leaders of the Russian game industry.
