Seriously reaches $150 million lifetime revenue

September was the Best Fiends developer's best month yet for revenue

Best Fiends developer Seriously has reached $150 million in lifetime revenue, following a nine-month run in which sales increased by 70%.

Seriously earned $6.8 million in September this year, the most it has earned in a single month since it was founded in 2013. The "mobile-first entertainment" company, which has offices in Finland and the US, also reported 70% revenue growth since January 2018.

And Seriously's team is growing. Brian Ru, formerly at Raine, has joined as director of strategy and operations, Next Games' Sylvain Cunzi is now VP of game technology, and Jamie Samson, previously at Fox, will be legal counsel.

It has also added another new revenue stream, with the launch of a Best Fiends shop. More than 30 products can now be purchased from within the mobile game, and Seriously intends to add new items concurrent with game updates and new animated shorts.

At the end of 2017, the year in which Seriously started to turn a profit, we spoke to co-founder and CCO Petri Järvilehto about the company's long-term strategy. "Our next year is going to be bigger than this, and the year after that is definitely going to be bigger again," he pledged.
