Secret World beta enlists one million acolytes

Funcom says more than one million users have signed up for the Secret World beta

Funcom has announced that The Secret World beta test now has one million users registered. According to the publisher, that number is higher than what Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures achieved. Funcom also boasts that its Secret World websites have seen more than two million unique visitors, and the Secret War social media game has almost 250,000 registered users.

"Shattering our previous beta records gives us great hope for The Secret World's launch and its future," says Funcom SVP of Sales & Marketing, Morten Larssen. "Combining this positive number with the excellent feedback we have received from both beta testers and the press that have played the game, make us very optimistic for a successful launch of The Secret World."

This Friday marks the kickoff of the first public beta weekend for the game. Everyone who pre-orders the game can join in on every beta weekend, and more content will be added to each subsequent beta event.

Funcom's The Secret World will be co-published by EA Partners with a release date of June 19, 2012.
