Screen Yorkshire discloses games industry appointments

Former PC Zone editor joined by spate of new hires for industry development group

Screen Yorkshire has announced a succession of new appointments aimed at bolstering the games industry throughout the Yorkshire and Humber region.

As previously reported, Jamie Sefton joins the company from Future Publishing's PC Zone magazine to assume the role of sector manager of Game Republic. In addition to this, Robin Cramp will take up the position as sector development officer for Interactive Media, and Gavin Wilson will become sector manager for Corporate and Commercial Production.

"More people are employed by the Interactive Media sector than in any other screen media industry in the region," commented Sally Joynson, chief executive of Screen Yorkshire.

"It is therefore integral to Screen Yorkshire's industry development strategy that we have experienced and talented personnel in these key roles to assist the region's creative companies in steering successfully through the current economic climate."

Screen Yorkshire also detailed appointments within its Production Liaison and Exhibition and Education teams, tasked with continuing and capitalising on the recent productions within the region.

Jim Richardson joins the company as the production liaison manager, Chris Hordley takes on the role of production liaison officer and Emma Melling assumes the role of education officer.
