Fastest-ever game to reach 5m units on DS

Nintendo's latest Pokémon title, Black & White, has now hit 5,036,724 sales in Japan alone.

While it is just one of five DS titles to ever each this milestone, Famitsu (via Andriasang) reports that it is the fastest – achieving it in 17 weeks.

Black & White has also become Japan's best-selling game of 2010, some 1.5 million units ahead of runner-up Monster Hunter Portable 3rd.

The Pokémon title is due for a Western release on March 6.
