Radical to cut 100 staff

Activision Blizzard shake-up results in fewer titles from studio

Vancouver-based Radical Entertainment has announced plans to lay off around half of it staff as the effects of the Activision Blizzard shake-up continue.

Around 100 people will lose their jobs at the studio as the publishing giant cuts the titles produced there - including the Scarface franchise - reports the Vancouver Sun.

"Activision Blizzard is committed to making the best games possible and has elected at this time to reduce the number of titles that Radical is developing from four games to two," said an email from Leah Rubin, Radical's vice-president of human resources. "Therefore, we will be proportionately reducing the size of our studio."

But Radical's products which will survive the cull have already been identified as Crash Bandicoot and Prototype, while those who lose their jobs will be offered "a number of tools and resources to help them find new employment."
