PS3 will sell 75 million units by 2010 - report

A new report by Research and Markets predicts the PlayStation 3 will have sold around 75 million units by 2010.

A new report by Research and Markets predicts the PlayStation 3 will have sold around 75 million units by 2010.

Entitled "The Transforming Global Videogames Market: The Emergence of Next Generation", the company claims the PS3 will win the next console battle, although it will not enjoy success similar to victories in the past.

"The console is not expected to dominate as much as its predecessor, the PS2, due to late launch issues in the PAL region and the early lead of Microsoft's Xbox 360," states the report.

The abstract for the research does not offer predictions for the installed base of Nintendo's Wii or Microsoft's Xbox 360.
