Press registration opens for Mobile Game Conference

Limited passes available for Seattle event

The Game Initiative, organisers of the forthcoming Mobile Game Conference in Seattle, has announced the opening of its press registration service - spurring industry insiders to get their skates on as only a limited number of press passes will be available.

The two-day conference, featuring keynote addresses from Digital Chocolate's Trip Hawkins and Square Enix' Kosei Ito amongst others, is scheduled to run from July 13-14 at the Meydenbauer Centre in Bellevue, Washington.

In addition to the prestigious keynote speakers, attendees will be offered a series of presentations, lectures and panel discussions specifically tailored to and focusing on the evolution of the global mobile entertainment market.

An integral part of the event is LivePitch OnStage, a chance for game developers, indie game developers and publishers to present their new projects and ideas in front of a panel of mobile games executives who can potentially bring them to market.

Described by the organisers as "American Idol for mobile game development," winning presenters will be allowed five minutes on centre stage, before the entire conference audience, to convince a panel of judges to fund or distribute their idea. This year's panel includes Kris Davis, Sprint's games product marketing manger, Cingular's senior product manager Andrew Stein and Paul Nakayama, senior director of content programming for MVNO Amp'd Mobile.

Press interested in attending the conference can register for passes by visiting thegameinitiative.com and full details on the conference schedule, speakers and LivePitch event can be found by visiting the official Mobile Game Conference website.
