Pocket God

Episode 23, "Bait Master", on the way.

SAN FRANCISCO - August 3, 2009

Bolt Creative, the independent development studio behind the iPhone sensation Pocket God, today announced the upcoming launch of the 23rd free content update, “Bait Master.” Episode 23 continues to expand the gaming experience found in Pocket God, adding a new minigame for deities to try out.

This time, the minigame takes place under the waves, with gameplay inspired by popular iPhone game Harbor Master. To activate the game, players must first unlock the underwater area by summoning the tsunami from Episode 18, “Surf’s Up.” The object of the game is to guide bloodthirsty piranhas from the edge of the screen to their meals (your loyal subjects), and then back to the edge once their bellies are full. The more Pygmies consumed, the faster the hungry piranhas arrive.

“With each episode, we’ve been pushing Pocket God in the direction of more interactivity, more engaging gameplay, and more ways to have fun wreaking havoc on your island,” said Dave Castelnuovo of Bolt Creative. “With the previous episode, ‘Ooga Jump,’ and now with ‘Bait Master,’ we’ve essentially developed and released full-fledged games for free. Twenty three episodes in, I think it’s safe to say that Pocket God is just about the best value on the app store.”
