Playrix acquires Eipix Entertainment

Homescapes creator enters Serbian market to create more free-to-play mobile games

Homescapes and Gardenscapes developers Playrix has announced the acquisition of Serbian studio Eipix Entertainment.

Eipix was founded in 2005 and has mainly focused on casual hidden-object games, including a series called Dark Parables. It will join Playrix's new Serbian subsidiary, Playrix RS, and will create more casual, mobile, free-to-play games.

"Our joining the Playrix team will give us access to the global market, large audiences and a base of knowledge and expertise that we have never had before," said Eipix CEO Mirko Topalski. "We believe that being a part of Playrix RS, we will contribute to the strengths of Playrix globally by working on new, unique and high-quality projects. Also, we are pleased that this deal will support the growth of our local Serbian gamedev community."

Playrix's popular match-3 title, Homescapes, recently reached $1 billion in lifetime revenue, while Gardenscapes sits well over $1.4 billion.
