PDP acquires motion sensing firm In2Games

US peripherals company to offer 3D motion tech to PS3 and 360 developers

US peripherals company Performance Designed Products has acquired UK outfit In2Games.

In2Games is the creator of 3D motion sensing technology Gametrak Freedom, designed for use with the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

"We are extremely excited to bring this unparalleled technology to first-party console manufacturers, as well as third-party publishers and developers to further heighten the level of game interaction with the player," offered Chris Richards, president of PDP.

In2Games claims that unlike the popular Wii interface, Gametrak tracks true 3D position and more precise movement of up to four players, for increased interaction with games.

As well as its own title Squeeballs, the company is hoping to co-ordinate a launch for the technology with other publishers in 2009.
